Wolves picked up their first home win in the new 2018/19 campaign with a 1-0 win over Burnley who are yet to find their first win of the season. Burnley have lost four of their last five matches in the season so far, their only point coming against Southampton on the opening day.

Wolves dominated large parts of the game and could've been two up at the break. Burnley goalkeeper Joe Hart produced some excellent saves with the help of James Tarkowski who made a good performance making blocks and interceptions throughout the match.

One minute into the second half, Phil Bardsley's poor back-pass towards Joe Hart allowed Wolves attacker Diego Jota to run onto the ball and play it square to Raul Jimenez who blazed his effort over the bar.

On the hour mark, Wolves pass the ball around nicely. Helder Costa spots a running Matt Doherty who crosses into Raul Jimenez and he places it into the bottom corner which gives the hosts a well deserved lead.

The pack of Wolves could've had another goal as the half went on with chances from Doherty and Lohner Leo Bonatini going begging. Burnley simply struggled to create chances in the second half. The Clarets only managed seven attempts at goal (two on target). Wolves had a staggering 30 attempts however only seven of those efforts were on target.

Wolves remain unbeaten winning two of their last three. Whilst Burnley equal a club record of four consecutive losses in the Premier League. Sean Dyche's men find themselves second from bottom with just one point and are yet to find their first win of the campaign.
