England recorded a memorable victory in Seville against Spain where they won 3-2 in the UEFA Nations League. It was England's first victory in Spain since 1987 when they won 4-2. The Three Lions got revenge on the Spanish after they lost to La Roja 2-1 at Wembley on September the 8th. It was also a good chance for England to bounce back after their tricky performance against Croatia behind closed doors in Rijeka.

It was a nervy first four minutes for England. Spain tested the England defence by counter attacking early on, forcing a save from Jordan Pickford by a Marcos Alonso effort, shortly after Jonny and Thiago saw their efforts denied. Marco Asensio stabs an effort at goal after a Kieran Trippier mistake but the shot is weak and the ball rolls straight to Pickford.

16 minutes in, Jordan Pickford plays a neat long ball to Harry Kane. Kane brings the ball down and keeps possession in the middle of the park. The Tottenham man finds Marcus Rashford out wide who takes a touch and plays a perfect pass to Raheem Sterling who makes a run into the centre. Sterling took one touch and blasted the ball into the net, David De Gea had no chance. The Manchester City winger hadn't scored for England since 2015 and certainly had his critics at the World Cup but tonight he did not fail to disappoint. Two goals for the young man when he doubled his tally seven minutes before half time when Ross Barkley chips the ball over the Spanish defence, Harry Kane meets the ball and knocks it into the path of Sterling who taps the ball home. A proper poachers effort.

Marcus Rashford scored nine minutes before Sterlings second goal. Rashford who set up the first, scored the second. Another end to end goal. Pickford hoofs the ball up the field to Harry Kane who like the first goal, brings the ball down beautifully. He turns away from his man into the space. Takes one look over his shoulder and plays a delicious through ball to Rashford. Marcus shifts the ball to his right and places the ball into the bottom corner. A proper route one goal. England play beautiful football.

England had a penalty shout in the second half when Sterling is tripped by Jonny. Referee does not give anything. Spain had a shout for a penalty of their own when Jordan Pickford, who not to mention had a great game, Found Spain's Rodrigo ahead of him. Pickford who had the ball, prepared to clear only to bring out a 'Cruyff turn' to clear the ball in style. The Everton keeper messes up and muscles the ball off a determined Rodrigo. Pickford goes in for the slide tackle and wins the ball but does hold Rodrigo back in the process.

Borussia Dortmund striker Paco Alcacer has been in form for the this season and came on and scored for Spain with his first touch of the ball. A header from a Spanish corner. Despite a promising second half from Spain, it wouldn't be their night. Sergio Ramos scored with the last kick of the game but it was too little too late.

The final whistle went and it was Spain's first competitive home defeat for 15 years.

Despite England's win, Spain remain top of the small Nations League table having won their first two games. The win puts England in second place below Spain on top spot (two point gap).

The next fixture in this Nations League group is at Wembley against Croatia on the 18th of November.
