Sala played youth team football in Argentina which followed by a short spell in Portugal. He began his professional career in Bordeaux in France's top league - Ligue 1. Sala's spells out on loan were very successful. Bagging 39 goals across the two seasons.
After another loan spell away from Bordeaux, Sala was departing for good in 2015 when he signed for fellow Ligue 1 side Nantes. The Argentine was a likeable man at Nantes. He had the honour of being there top goalscorer for three consecutive seasons.
